Birthdays...

June is always a very busy month in our family.  The boys always tease me because apparently I am known to say every year, "If I can just get through the month of June, I will be fine!"....whatever! :)

A highlight in June is celebrating Dillon's and my mom's birthday.  I love.love.love that they share the same birthday and bask in the memory of our surprise when Dillon (being two weeks late) was to be born on my mom's birthday. Even though it's been 20 years, I vividly remember it as if it were yesterday.

This year's celebration was at my parent's new home and very large community pool which they reserved just for our party!  The entire day was a blast....everyone had such a GREAT time!
the birthday boy and birthday girl...
I LOVE this picture of my mom and grandma...
my dad, the grilling master...
dalton with my mom and dad....this is one of those pictures that I wanted but didn't take at the Open House!
And this one!...Meet Chris and her husband Herman.  Chris started cutting my hair when  I was 13-years-old and continued to do so until my 30-somethings!  What a surprise when they came to Dalton's Open House and then to the birthday party....such fun!
two of my favorite people...Dillon and DeAnn, xoxo!!
And two more of my favorite people...

The party continued at the pool....as game director, I had planned on three different games which were sooooo fun!  In fact, my SIL, Angela, texted me after the party to say, "Thanks for the 3 hour work-out!"  :)  Unfortunately, I have no pictures documenting the second half of the party.  I'm beginning to think I need a hired hand at all events, or a clone of myself!

Dalton's Graduation...

We celebrated Dalton's high school graduation with an Open House.  It was a great day and most importantly, Dalton had a blast and "felt the love"!  :)

Here is an incomplete documentation of the day (I am still regretting not taking enough pictures of family and friends who attended...ugh!).  Believe me when I say, I am trying to let it go but it really does bother me! :{

especially made by dillon...

Exemplary...

The Lord blessed Dillon last week with an unexpected gift.

I returned home from getting the mail and nonchalantly told Dillon that he received something from Colorado State.  We were both reading our mail and he looked up at me and said, "I just got a $10,000 scholarship from CSU!"  "What?!?" was my reply and I quickly read the letter myself...I actually read and reread it three times just for it to sink in!  :)

We are beyond excited and proud of Dillon!  I am so thankful to the Lord for this unexpected reward to Dillon.  He has worked hard to do well in school and this just gives him more motivation to press on.  My prayer for Dillon since he started college was that the Lord would bless his efforts...boy, did God answer that prayer in a very big and tangible way!

Colossians 3:23 "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men..."

Bogey's Vet Visit...

.
We rescued Bogey about five years ago.  His biggest flaw is that he whines incessantly when he doesn't get his way and he hunts around the property like there is no tomorrow!!  Oh and then there is the occasional digging out of the property lines that makes this mama VERY unhappy.
But Bogey's strength is that he is very healthy and has never  required a vet visit, until two days ago.
Bogey had an ear hematoma!  Ask me anything about ear hematomas in dogs and I can tell you all about it....I have thoroughly researched and watched YouTube videos on the subject.

See the part of Bogey's ear that looks like it's been blown up like a balloon...that's the hematoma.  Really it's a fancy medical term for blood blister.
Always looking for a way out...
Unfortunately, the only cure is surgery.  Bogey had his surgery yesterday and even though the surgery went quite well , without any complications, he is really quite pathetic....that cone is unbearable!!
Here is Bogey this morning finding some relief without the cone.  The vet said he needs to wear it for seven (!!!!!) days but Bogey won't walk with it on.  I had to carry him outside this morning to do business and he just stood there like a statue!  Finally, I took the cone off and we walked around the property...success!
Poor little guy...now if he will just eat so we can give him medicine.
It's gonna be a long seven days....
Lord, grant me strength!
