Say What?

Every parent reflects on their children's birthday in sure amazement...many thoughts swirl the brain!

Thoughts like:
  • How did this happen?
  • I can't believe that so-and-so is blank-years-old!
These are some of my thoughts of late.

Dalton turned 18-years-old last Thursday, 2/24...Say What!?!?

Since his BFF, Zac, turned 18 just the month before, we decided to throw one big party. :) Here are some highlights:
Nicole (Zac's mom and my BFF) and I prepared a few of the boy's favorite things: hot wings, nachos, 'lil smokies, chips, candy, cake and ice cream...a real healthy menu!! :/
Lighting 36 candles at the same time in the outdoor elements was not an easy task...
But alas, we did it and both boys made their wishes...
A few friends, Shannon and Erica...
Dillon, Walker, Luke & Luke (Brooke's brother)...
Abbie, Melissa, Corinna and Brooke...
The kids loved playing the game Soda Pong....apparently it is the Christian version of beer pong! I'd try to explain the game if I could but I really don't understand it fully. Basically, you throw the ping pong ball into the other team's cups and if you make it in they have to guzzle down it's contents.
Dillon and Brooke...such a big help with the set-up, thanks you two!! They helped with my least favorite part: the balloons!!
Soda pong in action...
Luke & Luke above, played against Derek and Ryan, Zac's dad...it was quite the match and the elders pulled off the win....nice!
Such a cute and creative birthday card from Abbie and Melissa...click on the picture so you can read it better. :)
As is tradition in our family, we headed out to dinner as a family. Dalton loves all food Italian, so off to Olive Garden we went...

Mmmmmm cheesecake!...

Happy 18th Birthday, Son.
I pray that you continue to grow and mature in God's love and grace!
We love you!!
